Graveside services were held April 2 at Jefferson Municipal Cemetery for Dennis Dean Moranville, 73, of Grand Junction.
Words of comfort were offered by Mike Wolterman. Honorary bearers were Johnny Dennis Hamilton, Kayla Alice Riedell, Dylan Daniel Steven Hamilton, John Oberg, Megan Brelsford, Elliott Bittner and Adeline Bittner.
Dennis Dean Moranville was born April 4, 1947, to Donald Dean Moranville and Betty Lou Cummings Moranville in Jefferson. On August 28, 1965, Dennis married Kay Springer. They had two children, Steven Wray and Connie Sue Ann.
Dennis worked at AMF which later became known as AAI. He also worked at Hamilton Redi-Mix. He was a member of the Jefferson Elks Lodge and was a Jefferson fire fighter for more than 20 years.
Dennis and Marsha Thompson have been together for over 20 years and have been avid Harley riders. They liked to stop at every casino they passed by! They enjoyed spending time with their seven grandkids and five great-grandkids.
Following a long battle with cancer, Dennis died at home, with his family by his side, on March 31, 2021. He was 73 years of age. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Steven.
Survivors include his wife Marsha Thompson; his daughter Connie and Johnny Hamilton; his grandchildren Johnny Dennis and Allison Hamilton and their children Tate, and Trae, Kayla Alice and Bryan Riedell and their children Francis, Alice, and Dennis, and Dylan Daniel Steven Hamilton; daughter-in-law Sheri Mertz; Marsha’s children Courtney Oberg of Minnesota and Tiffany and Ethan Bittner of Eldora; and her grandchildren Johnny Oberg, Megan Brelsford, and Elliott and Adeline Bittner. Also surviving are Dennis’s siblings: Debra Kinsey of Jefferson, Douglas (Sandy) Moranville of Grand Junction, and Richard (Peggy) Moranville of Jefferson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
